NovaStar MG420

The MG420 is a 4K AV over IP encoder that forms part of NovaStar's MG Series distributed image processing and control system. This network-based system breaks the limitations of traditional centralized deployment, enabling decentralized audio and video interconnection applications across regions and networks. The MG420 encoder collects multiple audio and video signal sources scattered in different locations and transcodes them into IP streams for network transmission. Adopting H.264 and H.265 encoding protocols, the MG420 utilizes low network bandwidth while providing low-latency (60ms or less) and high-quality audio and video experience. The encoder supports input resolutions up to 4K×2K@60Hz with up to 10-bit 4:4:4 video input and processing, ensuring well-balanced color sampling and transmission. Input options include HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 (only one active at a time), both supporting HDCP compliance (HDCP 1.4/2.2 for HDMI, HDCP 1.3 for DP) and flexible EDID management (width: 800-8192 pixels, height: 600-7680 pixels). The MG420 features accompanied audio support with 3.5mm analog audio connectors, supporting dual channels with depth up to 16-bit and sampling rate up to 48 kHz. Output connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet (LAN/PoE) with PoE 802.3AT power supply support (up to 30W), and an optional 1G optical port (OPT) that can serve as backup for the LAN port. The encoder integrates seamlessly with the MG Series distributed visual management system, supporting web-based configuration, device management, and remote operations. With its compact design, flexible deployment, and comprehensive feature set, the MG420 is ideal for control rooms, large conference communication centers, monitoring centers, data centers, and dispatch centers requiring distributed AV over IP solutions.
