The CVT8-5GM is a high-performance 40Gbps multimode fiber converter featuring 8x 5G BaseT Ethernet ports, each delivering up to 5 Gbit/s bandwidth. The '5G' designation refers to 5 Gigabit Ethernet technology. This multimode version uses advanced 8-core MPO optical ports (different from the LC connectors on other models) providing 100m transmission distance with OM3 fiber or 150m with OM4 fiber. Compact 1U half-width design allows two units to be rack mounted side-by-side. Features PowerCON power supply, USB Type-B control, and ships with pre-installed optical modules. Supports CAT6 cables up to 100 meters per port.
5G BaseT ports are only compatible with other 5G-enabled products - not compatible with standard Gigabit Ethernet receiving cards.
